Life Is Happening For You

Most of us see life as something happening to us.

When something undesirable or unexpected happens, it upsets us. We may begin arguing with life: “Why did this happen to me?” “This should not have happened.” etc.

But life is not happening to you!

Life is happening for you!

How can that be the case? Especially when the experience in life brings fear, loss, grief, and such?

By bringing you fear, life is showing you that fear in the way of your experience of the unchanging peace of your real nature. The peace that knows no perturbation. In turn, the reflection of fear is the opportunity for you to let the fear go, and when fear goes, unchanging peace remains as it is. Shining as your present experience.

By bringing you loss, life is showing you that the sense of loss is in the way of your experience of the wholeness of your real nature. The wholeness to which nothing can be added to make it more, and nothing can be taken away to make it less. In turn, the reflection of loss is the opportunity for you to let go of the sense of loss, and when that happens, the wholeness that you are, remains as it is. Shining as your present experience.

By bringing you grief, life is showing you that grief is in the way of your experience of the boundless love of your nature. The big love that leaves nothing or no one out. In turn, the reflection of grief is the opportunity for you to let go of the feeling of grief, and when that happens, the big love that you are, remains as it is. Shining as your present experience.

In this way, every life experience reflects to you that which is in the way of your own original nature, the peace-love-happiness without their opposites, the wholeness. And by doing so, you will realize that life is happening for you, and specifically for your awakening to your real nature, for your freedom to be that which is boundless, eternal.

When you begin to see that life is happening for you, then the citadel of your beliefs and expectations, your judgments, and aversions come crashing. You see the absolute tenderness of life, here in every moment, with a sole purpose, to be intimately present as the Guru, reflecting wisdom to set you free. You realize that life is love.

The craziness of the world, the darkness of its people and their behaviors, the unspeakable horrors that often unfold as experience, these come into perspective, as you notice the profundity of what is really happening. It is like watching something horrific on a cinema screen, and being so lost in it that it hurts badly, and all of a sudden, you notice the screen behind the contents playing on it, and the blessed perspective returns that this is only a movie.

What is the screen upon which your movie of life is playing? Your own awareness. You are that awareness. You are not just an insignificant being tossed in the turbulent waters of life, you are the canvas on which life is unfolding, to help you realize your boundless, timeless nature.

See dear One, life is not happening to you, this separate-person who is apart from the world. Life is happening for you, to awaken you to your real nature, to set you free to be the No-otherness, the One without a second, unchanging as it is.

Simply put: Everything happens for a reason, and that is to awaken you to your real nature. This is life. Life is happening in exactly the way needed to help you go home to the big love that you truly are!

Love
Sundar.
